We have been involved in the mushrooms business for almost 20 years. Our company is now one of the leading companies in mushroom cultivation and marketing of mushroom products in Malaysia.

In 1987, everyone seems to be growing mushroom and mushroom farms were sprouting like mushrooms! The mushroom frenzy got us excited too and that's how it got us started with Vita Mushroom Enterprise in 1989 and then later our marketing arm Vita Marketing was formed. As our company goes forward and grows bigger, Vita Agrotech Sdn Bhd was established in 1997.

Vita Agrotech Sdn. Bhd. was formed to increase research on cultivation of edible mushroom with 40 farm houses. Research was done on Auricularia polyricha (black jelly mushroom), Ganoderma Lucidum (Lingzhi), Hericium erinaceus (monkey head mushroom), Schizophyllum commune (split-gilled mushroom), Volvariella volvacea (paddy straw mushroom), Tricholoma, Agrocybe and Clitocybe. The above mentioned mushroom species were sucessully cultivated outside the laboratory except for Tricholoma, Agrocybe and Clitocybe which are still under research.

The founders of the company are Mr Ooi (formerly a secondary school teacher) and wife Mdm Cheng (a bio-chemistry graduate) who are both very passionate about growing mushrooms.

The company has grown from strength to strength and has now ventured into researching and developing end-mushroom products like gano products that we are offering here. 

In October 2006, Ganofarm Sdn. Bhd. was set up following the expansion of business. The main focus of this company is on medicinal mushroom; medicinal properties, cultivation and product development. Under this company, existing products from Ganoderma Lucidum (Ling-zhi) from four different lines which are healthcare, personal care, beverages and cosmetics will be marketed.

Today our company have transformed into a company that is competitive, productive and innovative. It is our vision and commitment to become one of the best mushroom and mushroom’s product producer in this region. We have obtained the ISO 9001 : 2000 standards certification, SALM certification (Good Agriculture Practice) and now going to SOM certification (Organic Farming).

Our Farm also has collaboration with Local Universities and The Agriculture Department of Malaysia for the Research & Development in mushroom cultivation, training of undergraduate students and new growers, research of medicinal values of various mushrooms grown in Malaysia by post-graduates and etc.

In order to produce more specialty mushroom-based products, we have formed a product development unit and sampling and testing counter in our Farm. Our Farm is the first Mushroom Farm involved in agro-tourism by means of education and promotion of mushroom as a Healthy Food!
